Man did these first two weeks go by fast. It feels like I have been here for two days but also like I’ve been here for months. So much has happened that I don’t even know how to explain even half of it.

Sessions have been amazing, getting to hear from people with such wisdom and passion for God and his mission for people. I have learned how to honor those around me, about our relationship with God and how it develops from curious to lordship. I have learned what gossip means and how to avoid it and confront it and other things that may arise in relationships with feedback. I learned that shame is from the enemy to attack us but guilt is from God to convict us and help us become the people God wants us to be. I learned what healthy boundaries are with the people around me and the people back home, and what it means to be vulnerable within my team for the next nine months.

Getting to know my team has been so much fun. Figuring out enneagrams and love languages and how to respect these people and love them in the ways that make them feel welcome. Playing games has become my teams connection point. We play card games and Catan which always end up with lots of laughing and the occasional screaming :) We also play a game called hot seat where someone is being asked questions by whoever else is playing which helps us get to know each other. The occasional basketball game will happen which is always loud and entertaining to watch people run into the bushes to find the ball.

The Jesus and Justice event this last Saturday was awesome. To get to hear about groups that strive to help those who have been treated unjustly was such and amazing opportunity. And a special bonus was getting to worship with Tribl. Their ability to lead worship was an awesome experience.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped me be here for these moments that mean the world to me.
